Lupita Nyong'o sports gold-tipped braids as she celebrates 37th birthday with friends in Nigeria

She's an Oscar-winning actress and is currently in Nigeria filming her new project.

And on Sunday, Lupita Nyong'o shared a stunning selfie to her Instagram as she celebrated her birthday in the African nation.

'This is 37,' she captioned the photo in which she's seen wearing gold tips on her braids.

She wore a colorful print mini dress with leaf motifs and a ruffled collar.

She also posted video of herself dancing as she partied with friends at a club in Lagos and showed off her chocolate birthday cake.

'It's my birthday and I will party if I want to!' she shared.

The birthday girl was accompanied by Nigerian celebs D'banj, Teniola Apata, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Laolu Senbanjo and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

She's currently working on a TV adaptation of Adichie’s best-selling 2013 novel Americanah, which has been a passion project for sometime.

Executive producing with friend Danai Gurira, the limited series has received a 10-episode order from HBO Max.

Nyong'o will star as Ifemelu, a young Nigerian woman who leaves her military-ruled country for the United State, where she faces racism for the first time.

The project has been met with mixed reactions, as some are disappointed that the project did not cast a Nigerian woman for the main role.

NASA's Cassini probe is about to plunge to its doom — and its fiery death may be visible to telescopes on Earth

NASA's Cassini probe has orbited Saturn for over a decade. This Friday, scientists will steer it into the gas giant's atmosphere. NASA/JPL-Caltech/Space Science Institute After 13 years in orbit around Saturn, NASA's Cassini spacecraft is about to plunge itself into the planet's atmosphere and disintegrate. NASA decided to put an end to the mission on Friday because the probe is almost out of fuel. Cassini has provided exquisite details about the second-largest planet in our solar system. Take the hurricanes at Saturn's poles, for example. "These hurricanes are large enough they'd cover about half the continental United States, about 50 times larger than a typical Earth hurricane," says Cassini project scientist Linda Spilker of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Then there are the remarkable, hexagonal-shaped jet s...
